✓Rubber, 14 x 20 mm and 2.6 mm thick, which is 0.55 in by 0.79 in by 0.10 in. This is a rubber gasket, not a metal washer, so it will look and feel different from the copper or aluminum ring a quick lube shop may have fitted last time. Fifteen to a pack. Measure the outer edge of your old gasket before ordering, because the outside diameter is the number that tells the two Ford M14 rubber gaskets apart.
✓Made for the M14 drain plug. The 14 mm bore sits snugly on the thread, so the rubber grips the plug and stays on it while you are lying under the car instead of dropping into the drain pan with the old oil. It also keeps the gasket centred, so it sits square against the pan face when the plug comes down rather than pinching to one side, which is how a new gasket can still end up weeping.
✓Ford uses two M14 rubber drain plug gaskets and they do not swap. This one is F75Z-6734-AA and it measures 20 mm across. The other, F5TZ-6734-BA or Dorman 097-139, is wider. Put the old gasket on a ruler before ordering: 20 mm across the outside means this is the right one, and anything wider means you want the other number. The difference is easy to miss in a photo and obvious in the hand.
✓Some Ford engines come from the factory with a copper or aluminum washer on the drain plug instead of rubber. This pack is rubber, so compare it with the one you take off before ordering and match like for like. Replaces Ford F75Z-6734-AA, written on parts screens as F75Z6734AA, and crosses to Dorman 097-146 and NAPA 7041950, the aftermarket numbers most parts counters stock it under.
✓Rubber gaskets are single use. Once compressed and heat cycled a gasket takes a set and sits lower the second time, so it no longer seals against the same marks on the pan face — which is where a drip on the driveway a week after an oil change usually comes from. Fit a fresh one each service, snug the plug by hand until the gasket touches, then bring it down to the figure in your service manual.
