✓PATENTED ALL IN ONE FIRE STARTER: a ferrocerium rod, curved steel striker and 36 inch wax infused hemp tinder wick nest together in one anodized aluminum housing, so the rod, striker and tinder never get separated in your pack. The curved striker channels the spark shower straight onto the frayed wick tip.
✓LIGHTS IN WIND AND RAIN: the wax infused wick sheds water and holds a candle like flame that gusts struggle to blow out. If the rope gets soaked, wipe it off and fray a fresh inner strand before striking. Slide the wick back into the housing to snuff the flame and save the rest of the rope for next time.
✓THREE STEPS TO FLAME: 1) Fray the wick tip into loose fibers with the serrated edge of the striker. 2) Hold the striker at 90 degrees to the rod and scrape down toward the wick. 3) Once lit, pull out more rope for a bigger flame or push it in to shrink it. A few practice strikes at home make it second nature.
✓3 PLUS HOURS OF BURN TIME per 36 inch rope and thousands of strikes from the ferro rod. When the rope is used up, feed a PREPARED4X Fire Starter Rope refill (sold separately) in from the opposite end. The rod is bonded to the housing and is not replaceable. A drawstring storage bag is included.
